Shakespeare. That one word can catapult us back to high school and being forced to read and take tests and pop quizzes on his plays. It’s enough to give one nightmares.
The majority of us enjoy reading for leisure and we like reading a variety of books. Fiction, biography, non-fiction, history, even poetry. Usually we don’t choose plays.
This could be that people tend to think of plays as something to watch at the theatre. Reading at home tends to be difficult because the prose is not written in a nature designed specifically best when read. They are intended to be seen and heard rather than through the imagination that comes from reading.
It also seems to stem from expectations that we have of the way a story is told in writing. The play format narrative technique is broken by the play format and is difficult for people and they struggle to enjoy something which seems to be flawed, from their point of view.
In addition, there is a level of involvement from the reader that does not often appear except in poetry and people are not use to this and shy away from it. For people to understand the written format of plays they first need to open up to the way a story can be communicated.
There is no reason that the plot cannot be moved forward by a play’s layout and communication. Another key element is to encourage someone to enjoy active reading versus passive reading.

Color plays possibly, next to subject matter, the most important piece for an artist. You can create atmosphere, emotions, excitement, illusions of realism and even control space. Colors can be transparent, opaque, translucent, textured, flat, matte, gloss, dull or vibrant.
Colors play an important part in our everyday life as well. Light is the main way we perceive color all about us. To most people, red is red, blue is blue, etc. But if you look at the skies or the oceans there are so many colors to behold depending on the light. Just look at a rainbow when the sunlight goes through the raindrops.
In a color wheel, one half of the wheel contains red, orange and yellow; these are the warm colors moving forward. In the other half you have blue, violet and green emitting coolness and seeming to shrink backwards.
If you were to place them side by side one works against another to dominate the space you have which is very effective when you want to produce contrast and vibrant colors to your work.
Red, yellow and blue are known as the pure colors (primary colors) and these cannot be mixed from any other colors. Secondary colors are orange, green and violet. Their consistency is made up from an equal mixture of their two primary color neighbors in the circle.
For an example, turquoise is the result of blue and green mixed together. In a color wheel it’s noticeable that there is no black or white. Black soaks up all the colors and white bounces them back, therefore black is a missing color and white is all colors in one.

Abstract art reaches out to many different walks of people. Abstract art uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition. People like the fact that they can buy posters of the original masterpieces and have them framed at a great price and hang them with pride in their home. They also get to choose colors and schemes to enhance their surroundings.
When you are having a difficult time deciding what to buy a friend or acquaintance as a gift, why not think about an abstract art piece? If you have been in their home, think of their décor, or if you have been in their office and they have prints on the wall think in that general direction. Another facet of buying abstract art posters and getting them framed for a close friend is that sometimes you will see an abstract poster and immediately think of that individual and how it corresponds to them.
There are many different locals to purchase abstract art posters that range from an art gallery or exhibition, although usually the masses buy retail from places that offer framing on the premises. Some places that offer these services along with the prints are stores in the mall, Hobby Lobby, Garden Ridge Pottery, Bed Bath and Beyond, or go online through an online poster portal that offers a wider variety than a retail store.
Art truly is for the masses. Abstract, impressionism, contemporary, expressionism, wherever your interest may lie there is an art form to enjoy.
